Smaller vs. Bigger Eyes

Just one quick post!

Makeup is all about the art of illusion. Here's a quick tip for you guys on how to achieve smaller and/or bigger eyes (whatever you like).

SMALLER:
If you have super "deep set", "bulging" eyes, chances are, you'd want to lessen or balance it out.
  • The trick here is LINING your eyes all around with a dark colored pencil/liner/eyeshadow to "push it back".
  • Remember the rule of thumb that black makes everything sexier/slimmer - that also includes the eyes ;)
BIGGER:
This technique works best for chinita shaped eyes since this adds more width and rounds up the eye.
  • Use a white/nude eyeliner to line the INNER waterline. A nude colored liner is less harsh, more subtle and more wearable for everyday.
  • Line the outer portion of the eye (LOWER LASHLINE) with a brown/black eyeshadow/liner up until the middle portion. Do not line it all the way since it "closes" up the eyes and makes them smaller.
  • Don't go overboard with the white liner baka magmukha kang may hyperthyroidism niyan kasi more na more ang luwa ng mata! Yung sakto lang.
Ergo: White makes things bigger. Black smaller. Keri?

Now that's an optical illusion!
(get it? optical = eye.. illusion? HAHAHA. Grabe ang funny ko. haha tumawa kayo.)

SMALLER
BIGGER.

Ilusyonadang palaka.
Bongga di ba?

Back to School: Fresh in Five!

Hi ladies! To kick off my June entry, I'll be doing some "back to school" look(s) because:

 1) Feeling "young student" pa ko
2)Tamad ako mag makeup sa totoong buhay
3) My PharmD classmates KNOW na Haggardo versoza ang peg ko everyday
4) Kahit puyat sa pag aaral (OR sa pag cram) dapat fresh parin di baaaa???

Here's something for all of you lazy girls (like me!) out there. I usually do this on the way to school since I have mastered the art of putting on makeup in a moving vehicle (wag gayahin). This look takes me 5 mins tops (promise!)

Feel free to add/skip some steps to your liking. Btw I've used pretty affordable products for us purita-non-working class girls. HAHAHA

Read more after the jump! ;)
YES. NAG POST AKO NG NO MAKEUP PIC. HOWMYGAHDDDDD.

Pin-Up Girl Makeup Tutorial

Hello dear non-existent readers! (haha) I have decided to revive this blog of mine to share some tips and tutorials on makeup. Feelingera mode - ON!

Victory curls, Winged eye-liner, red RED lips - three main things you see in a pin-up themed makeup.

"A pin-up girl, also known as a pin-up model, is a model whose mass-produced pictures see wide appeal as popculture. Pin-ups are intended for informal display, e.g. meant to be "pinned-up" on a wall. The term pin-up may also refer to drawings, paintings, and other illustrations done in emulation of these photos. The term was first attested to in English in 1941; however, the practice is documented back at least to the 1890s." - wikipedia (Napaka credible ng source ko.)

Apart from the posters actually being pinned up the wall the hair of pin up girls required massive amounts of hair pins to set the curls (look up "how to pin-curls" in youtube and you'll understand how much effort it took to curl the hair back in the day!).

My first tutorial would be the iconic Pin-Up look mainly because the eyeshadow routine is pretty simple and can be wearable for everyday with a few tweeks of course

Here's my interpretation of the look and if you want to learn how to achieve this read on ;)

Follow up on Etude House' Bubble Hair Coloring

Hi! I'd like to share an update on the bubble hair color I tried last week. Here's a pic that was taken last Friday (a day after coloring).

HAHAHAHA.

I must say, it did a good job of covering my roots (about an inch of regrowth) minus the ammonia smell.

HOWEVER it left my hair crazy dry and brittle! I've been dyeing my hair for quite some time now but I haven't experienced brittleness like this. It's been almost a week and still, post-shampoo it feels coarse. I have to put on intense   conditioner to soften my strands up.

Overall, I might just stick to regular dyes next time but I'd want to try other bubble dye brands though :)

Etude House: Bubble Hair Coloring Review

I'm baaaaaack! After months of not blogging :) It's been a pretty busy and fattening summer for me so far. I can't wait to share what awesome finds I got from the States :)

So anyway, to start the month I wanted to do a product review on the uso Asian bubble/foam hair dyes out there.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Etude House, a Korean brand, is now carrying a foam/bubble type of hair dye similar to the Japanese ones like Palty and Prettia (which are sold online for a pretty hefty price if you asked me). I've been itching to order the Palty one for quite some time now, but the pre-order-online thing made me lazy. haha.

At P378 a box, it's pretty affordable compared to the Japanese bubble dye brands.
